Come to think of it, that most famous Dublin painter, Abbott Thayer (I've mentioned him before), took some flack for matching animals with their surroundings in his work...hmm. Unlike Thayer, I am not espousing a theory of animal concealment, but just delighting in the designer moments that the microseasons offer. In my garden, it's all purples, pinks and blues...for the moment. The purple finch is the NH state bird.
